Sprunk-Jansen describes its herbal remedies as “rooted in the Greek-Arabic tradition and proven by modern scientific methods,” attesting to the fact that every one of its formulas has been clinically tested for safety and efficacy. The corporate philosophy: “Herbal remedies don’t compete with orthodox medicine. The two disciplines share the same scientific basis but, because they act in different ways, they complement each other.” Beautiful, gallery-worthy butterfly images rest on packaging that stands out on shelves. Spotless cream ($32.75) combines soapwort, elecampane and lemon to gently clear up blemishes, and help to prevent new ones from forming. The company says it is currently working to better the eco-status of its packaging; cartons will contain 30% recycled materials, and use water-based inks and a water-based gloss finish. The inserts will contain recycled material.
